Noun: a person who is a source of artistic inspiration, a term often used to describe a woman.
Verb: to consider something thoughtfully.

The Muses were nine goddesses who inspired different forms of art and science. They were believed to be the source of knowledge in poetry, myths, and song lyrics. Each Muse was associated with a specific domain of creative expression. Their names and domains are as follows:
Calliope – epic poetry and eloquence.
Clio – history.
Erato – love poetry and lyric poetry.
Euterpe – music, particularly of the flute.
Melpomene – tragedy.
Terpsichore – dance and choral song.
Polyhymnia – sacred poetry, hymns, and mime.
Urania – astronomy and celestial bodies.
Thalia – comedy and pastoral poetry.
